David Lane Bsc (Hons) DipTP, DipTP, MRTPI
Principal

David has 33 years experience in planning spent in both public service and private practice. His last public appointment was that of Principal Planning Officer to Kennet District Council before which he was a Senior Planning Officer to St. Albans District by whom he was employed for 13 years in both their local plans and development control teams.
For the last 19 years he has been Principal of DLA Town Planning Ltd.
David is a board member of a Housing Association.
Recently David successfully negotiated a scheme through a London Borough for 229 dwellings and with minimal off-site financial contributions. Other recent successes include a small off-centre retail park, also in a London Borough, as well as schemes for 21 and 80 flats as well as single house plots.
On the local plan front, a site of 30ha, which had lain vacant, was successfully released from the local countryside notation and now has permission retail/employment/leisure notation.


Mike Lake Msc, DipTP, MRTPI
Principal Associate

Mike has 17 years experience in planning both in public and private practice. He has worked for three local authorities in both their Local Plans and Development Control teams. Mike has specialised experience in tourism planning leading to him gaining his Masters Degree in that field. His last public appointment was for St. Albans District Council, where he worked in the Development Control Department and which included a one-year sabbatical with East Herts District Council. He joined DLA Town Planning Ltd as Principle Associate in 2000 and has now developed his own client base dealing with all aspects of planning.


Helen Hunter Bsc (Hons) BTP, MRTPI
Senior Associate

Helen has 22 years experience in planning both in public service and private practice. She has worked for two local authorities in both their development control and local plans teams. Helen joined DLA Town Planning Ltd in 1995 and is experienced in preparing Design and Access statements, the submission and negotiation of applications through to determination, and any subsequent appeal.

 
Sasha Gosine BA (Hons) BTP, MRTPI
Senior Associate

Sasha has 18 years of experience in planning, largely in the public sector. She has worked for 3 different local authorities in London, Suffolk and Hertfordshire in both their development control and local plans teams. Sasha joined DLA Town Planning Ltd in 2005 and deals primarily with the submission and negotiation of applications. through to determination and any subsequent appeal.


Rowland Sillito BA (Hons) Dip TP, MRTPI
Senior Associate

Rowland has 13 years experience in planning, having joined DLA Town planning Ltd as a graduate in 1995.  He is now a Senior Associate, and specialises in the preparation of written evidence to support planning applications and appeals. Rowland has specialist knowledge in rural issues, having gained his degree in countryside planning. He has previously worked for the Community Development Agency for Hertfordshire and Hertfordshire County Council.


Gemma Walker Bsc (Hons) MA
Associate

Gemma is a town planner who has worked at DLA Town Planning Ltd since 2004.  Since then Gemma has completed an MA in Town Planning and is in the final stages of obtaining MRTPI status.  She works on a variety of different projects particularly in and around St Albans, with a primary focus on residential applications and appeals, ranging from domestic extensions to proposals for multiple dwellings.


Mark Williams BA (Hons) MA
Associate

Mark joined DLA Town Planning Ltd in 2003 and has since gained a Masters Qualification in Town Planning.  Mark deals with the submission and negotiation of applications through to determination and any subsequent appeal.


Graeme Free Bsc (Hons)
Planner

Graeme joined DLA Town planning Ltd in the summer of 2006 and is currently in the final stages of his Masters qualification in Town Planning. Graeme deals with the submission and negotiation of planning applications through to determination and any subsequent appeal, primarily in and around the St Albans area. Graeme’s main experience is with residential applications.
