Design & Access Statements
The majority of planning applications must be accompanied by a Design and Access statement. This became a statutory requirement for all but the most minor proposals from August 2006.
We produce comprehensive Design and Access Statements prepared in compliance with the guidelines prepared by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) in 2006. In compliance with these guidelines our evaluation of a scheme is informed by a consideration of the physical, economic, social and historical context of the site. The primary focus of our appraisal however is a consideration of a scheme in relation to the relevant development plan policy and Government guidance, that being the framework against which the Local Planning Authority will determine the proposal.
