DLA Town Planning secured planning permission in the Green Belt from Hertsmere Borough Council for St Margaret’s School in Bushey, a £10.5m rebuilding and refurbishment project which is part of a 10 year master plan.   The project includes alterations to the Waterhouse Building, a listed building, as well as major extension works to allow for the Preparatory School to be relocated to the main site.  The works also included significant highway and operational alterations to ensure no detriment to highway safety.  The first phase of the master plan was funded by the sale of land to Cala Homes for the redevelopment and conversion of existing buildings, both statutory listed and locally listed, to create 26 new dwellings.

Ken Young the Bursar at the School said following permission that:

"St Margaret's School were extremely fortunate to have been introduced to DLA at the start of an ambitious project in the Green Belt with numerous associated listed building. Their relationship with planning officers and understanding of Councillors ensures that their advice throughout is measured and wise. DLA are not only an exceptional firm who offer valuable professional advice; they are also a pleasure to work with. Their role in getting us so smoothly to where we are cannot be under-estimated."
