New Barnet Mews, High Barnet
This urban regeneration project related to three vacant and redundant sites on the edge of High Barnet town centre.
The sites, a former industrial estate, a redundant and dilapidated public house and a former chip shop now provide a variety of new houses and apartments, each responding to the individual qualities of the three sites.
A total of 31 residential units and a retail use have been provided comprising a high street corner building, Victorian terraces, internal mews and ‘suburban semis’.
The resulting three developments each have a distinct identity, all making best use of previously developed sustainable land.
Lengthy pre-application engagement with the Council and the local community resulted in approvals with a first application.
